The challenge

Common-area billing was split across three separate meters, which would have needed three separate net-metering applications.

What we did

We consolidated the common-area load onto a single sanctioned connection before installation, so one application and one net meter covered the whole society.

Project notes

Housing societies are one of the easiest solar decisions available - the common-area bill is a fixed monthly outflow every member already pays, and it runs almost entirely during daylight.

The society's common-area bill fell from around Rs 3.95 lakh a year to roughly Rs 72,000. Maintenance charges per flat were reduced the following quarter.

40 kW array on the common terrace
after 40 kW array on the common terrace
